Elder Care Issues Has The Blues!

Did you notice something different? This blog has gone blue! Every site can benefit from the occasional makeover, but blue rather than the old brown and grey version?

We all get the blues sometimes, and caregivers are especially prone to depression and melancholy. But blue stands for much more than just sadness. Here are some reasons why blue is important for caregivers:

Blue Is A Calm Color

Running around all day, never getting anything done? Blue is the color of peace, serenity and relaxation. Three things that all caregivers need. Just seeing the color blue can help bring calm to your mind and body.

Blue is Deep

Blue is  a spiritual as well as intellectual color. Many caregivers turn to a variety of religious or spiritual lifestyles in order to find acceptance, support and reassurance.

Since caregivers are responsible for the health and well-being of a loved one, they are constantly researching and learning new things. It can be hard and stressful to absorb that much new information on a daily basis.

Blue is A Healing Color

Caregivers stand in a unique position. Everyone has to go through a healing process when they lose a loved one, but caregivers have to start that healing process long before then. For elderly caregivers, healing is emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical.

Embrace the Blues

By choosing blue for the color of this blog, I hope to enhance the lives of visitors. Consider it a visual spa treatment after a long day. Or imagine yourself taking a small island vacation away from your troubles while you are still caring for a senior.

This blog may have the blues, but you shouldn't. So enjoy a moment of calm. Heal yourself a little. And keep on being the awesome caregiver that you are!
